I first discovered the southwest in 2004 during a family trip to visit the "Grand Circle" of national parks around the Utah/Arizona border. This trip ultimately changed my life. I was immediately in love with the landscapes before my eyes. For years I shot exclusively with a 4x5" large format film camera. Large format cameras offer unsurpassed quality with a large film area, and the ability with the use of movements to obtain maximum focus and depth of field. In recent years I've transitioned to the digital realm, and I now shoot with a Fuji medium format GFX camera. I've spent countless days discovering some of the most beautiful places on the Colorado Plateau, and each and every trip allows me to connect with the landscape and discover its most intimate secrets.
I currently reside in Cedar City, UT, a wonderful base for exploring the southwest. By living among the landscapes that I love so much, I'm able to visit my favorite locations time after time, seeing them in different light and compositions, allowing me to capture some of the most dramatic of events. Please enjoy this "visual journey" through the desert southwest.
